Steel plate KYRYS
The basis of the KYRYS steel plate is the most modern, hardest, ultra-hard Armox® Advance armour steel in 5mm thickness from the Swedish company SAAB. The steel plate itself is cast with our PANCIR material, which is unique and not used anywhere in the world. It is not plastic, silicone or rubber. It has a high density , expansion , flexibility , viscosity and thanks to these properties it can slow down the projectiles and the fragments from the projectiles themselves that remain inside the material during fragmentation. I dare say it is the best breakthrough combination yet in use on steel plates and is not used anywhere else in the world.

- Captures and slows down fragments from projectiles in a way that is a breakthrough compared to previously used materials such as paxcon , rubber , various alloys and fabrics.
- The material is stable
- Low profile 2.2cm
- High durability , flexibility , viscosity
- Comfortable material to wear versus the harder protection of steel plate
- The shape follows the steel plate that is inside with an overlap of 0.5cm on each side
- Weight of 1 piece is 4,1 kg
- Any size and shape
- Ceramic vs Kyrys - Kyrys has much more durability .. Armox has a lifetime warranty on the material
- Ceramics vs Kyrys - Kyrys can withstand any extreme treatment compared to ceramics
- Ceramics vs Kyrys - Kyrys does not have any bulges, deformations on the back side that would cause further injury
KYRYS will be produced in standard SAPI dimensions:
- Size M - 241 x 318 mm
- Size L - 260 x 337 mm
- Side M - 150 x 150 mm
- Side L - 150 x 200 mm
General
The PANCIR auxiliary material itself has been tested over a period of 7 years. We use it for the production of special 3D Shooting Targets, shot traps, Hardox plate covers and we make special moulds for Hardox targets. This makes Hardox targets much safer on shooting ranges as PANCIR does not let the fragments from the projectiles further into the area.
Armox® is ballistically certified by the manufacturer ( SAAB ) according to NATO EN1522 standards.
The Armox® Advance in 5mm meets NIIJ 0108.01 level III and NATO EN1522 FB 6. It is made to withstand S&B 9x19 Luger FMJ 7,5g S&B . 7,62x39 mm FMJ 8g . S&B 223 REM FMJ 3,6g . S&B 308 Win FMJ 11,7g and special military ammunition caliber 223 - green tip M855 FMJ 62gr (Green Tip Penetrator) see. manufacturer's table. During Testing we also used military ammunition caliber 7.62 x 54R , which is off the manufacturer's ballistic class chart and the steel held up in the test see. photos of testing.
